Teleradiology presents big opportunity


The estimated 20-30% shortage of radiologists locally is prompting US medical institutions to tap radiologists based in India, says a report in Economic Times. Under these contracts, qualified radiologists in India interpret X-rays and other radiology data transmitted from US hospitals using high-speed communication links.

Small radiology companies as well as larger firms like the Manipal Group, Apollo Hospitals, and Wockhardt, are actively looking to tap this opportunity, the report added.
